We all have fears, anxieties and pain in some form. We don’t have to mirror each other’s issues at the time of “tapping” together to borrow benefits.
What a lot of people new to E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Technique) don’t know is that we can “borrow benefits” to clear our own issues while tapping with someone else on theirs. It’s a win win! This is a great way to help out a friend/family member in need but you also reap the rewards!
For example, you may be anxious about an upcoming interview, work event and your friend or sister could be anxious about going on a first date. So “tap” together focussing on your friend/family’s issue and tap on her wording that suits her. You will find that your stress/anxiety has decreased too.
“Tapping” with kids can also help us heal old childhood wounds that may still be effecting how we feel about ourselves today. While tapping with the words for your child, you more than likely had a time in your life that you felt that same way when you were young so you clear those old negative emotions and benefit too.
This is another reason why I find this line of work so rewarding. I’m borrowing benefits every time I work with people. My day actually improves after working with a client. Instead of feeling drained and exhausted, I’m energized even though I may have different issues than the client.
